The Meaford & District Chamber of Commerce is on a Dragon hunt as it gears up for its second annual Dragons’ Den Meaford event on Wednesday, October 20th, 2010.
If you are a business owner, representative of a corporation or even just a business minded individual interested in breathing fire into Meaford’s economy, this is an opportunity you will not want to pass up!
The premise? Similar to the popular CBC TV show, aspiring entrepreneurs will present their ideas in front of the Dragon panel for a chance to win seed money. There will also be some exciting prizes from participating sponsors soon-to-be announced. All business ideas from candidates must relate to one or more of the four pillars of the Meaford Economic Development Strategy… Retail, Tourism, Agribusiness and Green.
The Chamber has five spots at the Dragon table. This is an excellent advertising opportunity for your business as your corporate or individual name will be on all advertising associated with the show. The total cost for a Dragon to participate is $1,250 with a thousand going to the business idea(s) the Dragon deems to have the most merit. The remaining $250 goes to help the Chamber cover the expenses of hosting the event.
