Meaford Business Shaking Things Up

tzoneT-Zone Meaford held their official grand opening on Thursday January 13. The new business located at 78 Sykes Street N. offers whole body vibration equipment which are touted as providing the equivalent of a 60 minute workout during a 10 minute session.

Since opening their doors in November, the facility has already attracted more than 120 members. Among the first of those members was Meaford's new Economic Development Officer Laurie Mitchell. In a media release issued prior to the official grand opening, Mitchell indicated that she had already experienced the benefits of improved mobility and increased energy.

Dragons' Den: The Other Pitches

ddstageOn October 20, 2010 at Meaford Hall, approximately $25,700 in cash and prizes was awarded to aspiring entrepreneurs as part of the second annual Dragons’ Den Meaford.  Presented by the Meaford & District Chamber of Commerce, a media release went out last week announcing the top winners of the evening.

Due to popular demand, the Meaford & District Chamber of Commerce would also like to recognize those other contestants who submitted business proposals.

Meredith Cowan: Dragon Slayer

As the contestants prepare to stand before the Dragons and pitch their business ideas in hopes of convincing them to support their endeavour, The Meaford Independent decided to check in with the big winner from the 2009 event, Meredith Cowan to see how her success at Dragons' Den Meaford has impacted her business.
