It is an honour to have the opportunity to run for mayor. It is an ongoing pleasure to meet and talk with the wonderful people throughout this expansive municipality. It is humbling to know that my fellow citizens expect and trust me to do "the right thing™".
These are the key issues in this election: taxes and over-spending, divisive lawsuits, and how Council and Staff do their jobs.
I will tackle Meaford's spending problems. I will avoid risky and divisive lawsuits, and work towards a resolution of those underway. I will lead an open, accessible and diligent Council that is fully accountable to you, our rate-payers.
We have to avoid situations where Council ends up making embarrassing apologies on behalf of the administration.
During this election we've seen a style of politics that includes fear, divisiveness and intimidation, and it's not the first time we've seen it. This is not normal and this type of politics is gone.
We are going to freeze hiring. We are going to hold the line on taxes and reduce spending.
We are going to incorporate honesty and integrity into all the business we do. We're going to have public involvement and all members of the new Council will take courses on ethics. People have lost faith and trust in their Administration. We don't need four more years of the same.

You have the right to know what's going on in your municipal government.

We will follow rigorous budgets, employ clear and understandable accounting, and provide timely audited statements.

We will have competitive bids for all projects, without exception.

We will listen to everyone and welcome your assistance.

We will work out our differences without resorting to costly court battles.

And rather than point to reports to show paper successes, we will point to actual successes.
It's time to vote and I need you on my team. Together, we can make a Fresh Start in the Municipality of Meaford.
Monday is your last day to vote. Completed ballots may be dropped through the mail slot at the Municipal offices (21 Trowbridge St. W) anytime. The polls are open at the Municipal offices from 8:00 am till 8:00 pm, Monday night.
