I read about a Meaford council member talking about funding to sugar coat the bitter pill of wind turbines.
I've been dealing with the aftermath of families being hurt by turbines for far too long now to let those words slide by. People are being hurt in these wind turbine projects stuffed into our communities. It isn't just a few. It isn't just those who already have problems. It isn't just those who don't get paid to host one. Money will not sugar coat anything when it comes to wind turbines.
In the name of compassion, community and being a good neighbour, there is only one position to take on this issue and it isn't to hope for the best or get as much money from anywhere you can to go with it. You will never get enough money to compensate the people who are decimated by a project moving in.
Grey Highlands turned down large sums of money from AIM/IPC/Suez (whoever they are now) to go with the turbines now wreaking havoc with people's lives here even though 18 more turbines were shoehorned into being. As far as I'm concerned, the money offered by wind companies is as dirty as it comes.
I clearly remember people in Ripley, not long ago, who were so sick they could hardly function because of turbine toxic homes, having to read the praises of some community decoration made possible by Suncor (wind company) funds.
The turbines still being placed too closely to families is not something we should accept under any circumstance. It is not okay to hurt our neighbours.
And our neighbours are being hurt. It is beyond defending that fact even if some don't want to take it in as so.
Please take the time to truly understand my words, to imagine the potential for harm to your own family, to understand how immoral and insulting a 'community vibrancy' fund is to all of us in the end.
