Editor,

Will Meaford user fee increases be subject to the HST later this year?

“Order of Canada” appointees which are made known to us at New Years are comprised of a disproportional number of the political/cultural elite. Where are the great innovators like Sir Alexander Graham Bell and Frederick Banting? Perhaps this is a sad reflection of pop culture and our educational system.

Don’t understand recent announcement by Our Premier that the province's wind and solar power generation will be handled exclusively by Samsung Corp. Is this his definition of Green jobs? Where is the made in Ontario solution? Can we not gear-up our government owned auto/aerospace companies to fabricate this stuff?

Looks like the IPCC/UN snow job about global warming is melting!

Recent goings-on with animal shelters, OSPCA and other PETA types indicate that these organizations are now run by loons. Unfortunately these loons have the power to raid your property on suspicion of mistreatment of animals. You must then defend yourself at your expense and pay their expenses for saving the animals. Their definition of cruelty includes keeping older animals alive until they die naturally.

Does anyone in our “lamestream” media which reports on the “climate crisis” know the difference between climate, weather, and air pollution?

Noticed that the Sun Times reported with outrage that a St.Mary’s H.S. teacher had the audacity to explain the Conservative position on proroguing at a visit to his class by Larry Miller. The reporter indicated that this explanation differed from the Sun Time’s editorial position! I am totally shocked to discover that there is a teacher out there with conservative leanings. He must be the only one! As though students would ever get a balanced view of politics in our unionized educational system .

Interesting that the arrival of a new doctor to rural Ontario towns is now newsworthy.

Love the Olympics, the athletes are inspiring , Vancouver doing a great job despite non winter-like weather .

Interesting how great athletic events include the arts and culture crowds yet I must have missed the ski jumpers at the Nutcracker!
