The HarperCard Is Just Right

E-mail Print PDF

Editor,

It is crystal clear which side of the political spectrum Kaisha prefers. It seems that she is more comfortable with destructive criticism than constructive criticism.

For instance she itemizes “Labour that could be put to better use”, but provides no clue as to what that use might be, in her opinion.

I believe we have a great country in Canada, and to promote it’s good features and encourage tourism to international media visitors and leaders is a very beneficial and admirable thing. Our armed forces are even willing to die for our great country and it’s freedoms!

There are many in the urban centres of the country whose vision extends, perhaps like Kaisha, only to their “rights” and “entitlements – which others have earned ( sometimes with their lives ) and continue to pay for. Their short sighted vision envies any public expenditure which does not flow directly, or indirectly, to their benefit.

My Canada is one in which citizens are encouraged to aim for the highest levels of achievement in the world, and always think what they can do for their country, not what it can do …….

A teenage girl recently sailing solo round the world comes to mind.

As far as I am concerned Canada is “priceless” and the “Harper Card” is just right for everything.

Tony Sharp, Meaford
