Editor,

I would just like to touch on the topic of free enterprise.

I just read that there seems to be some objection to the hot dog vendor opening up shop in Meaford. This is very exciting to see that Meaford is attracting new business, this is a positive sign to the failing economy and we as business owners, and tax payers should do  nothing, but encourage all new business opportunities in our municipality and NOT put up red tape and deter future business owners from re-locating to our area.

I am sure that we can make this happen very easily by having a vendor permit fee as well as a garbage fee for this type of vending, come on people of council this is not rocket science. We talk about becoming the greenest community in Ontario and we just started to recycle cardboard in the downtown area last week. I really don't see any huge issues that cannot be resolved by having a simple meeting and setting up some protocol that would enable street vender's make their living in Meaford.

Bryon Doucette, Meaford
