Dear Editor,
This letter was originally given to the offices of, what I mistakenly assumed was, our local paper. May I take this opportunity to thank the backers of this ‘Independent newspaper’ for providing a venue for the views and opinions of the members of this Municipality.
MY RANT
Could we be bold enough to mention the never-ending, hopeless pursuit by council to put a road through, what I understand is, deeded property , prompted I read , by advice from ‘insurance lawyers’ . What sheer nonsense! It appears that we and the hapless folks from Georgian Beach will be paying for this on into the next life!
Is the garbage issue your feeble attempt to increase our already increased taxes? We now have vermin, varmints, and reptilian-like creatures, stealing into our garage at night to rape and pillage our 2 week-old refuse. They do not, on a positive note, ever attack our recycling.
Is there someone on council who understands the difference between employers and employees? We, the employers, are not happy!
I’m sure some indignant pipe-puffer will follow this letter with a 16-letter word diatribe about how ill-informed we are. I read the paper and listen to other beleaguered taxpayers and we, the general citizenry of the Municipality of Meaford, seem to be angry, outraged, embarrassed, and frustrated with a council who covers their incompetency with robes of office.
