pic_margs quilt_CROPPEDThe Meaford Hall Galleries present the perfect backdrop for a stunning display of quilts by the Friendship Circle Quilters.

The exhibit began on January 9, and continues until February 4.

The walls are alive with such varied works of art – with some very tangible texture and depth to some of the pieces, and styles included are classic, contemporary, geometrical and picture perfect art pieces.

“The Friendship Circle Quilters are glad to bring the warmth back to the Galleries. The quilts look beautiful in this great, light-filled space, and their presence gives the Galleries a very soft, warm and inviting feeling,” says Cheryl Smith, Friendship Circle Quilters president.

The display consists of almost 40 quilts both large and small available for viewing until February 4. In the collection are works by each individual artist in the group of about 20 quilters.

Included in the exhibit are hand-quilted, pieced, appliquéd, and machine quilted works from artisans aged 50 to 90 who reside in Meaford and the surrounding countryside. All quilts are brand new, with most being available for sale.

For more information call 1.877.538.0463, drop by the Meaford Hall Galleries at 12 Nelson St. in Meaford.

Admission is free however the Galleries are closed occasionally for private events – please call in advance to check.
