After a long and busy winter of organizing and planning, the Meaford Municipal Farmers' Market returns to the Rotary Harbour Pavilion tomorrow Friday June 4.
This year's edition of the market is bigger and better than ever. With a 70 percent increase in full season vendors, and some wonderful new additions along with some familiar faces from previous years, those visiting the market this year will find plenty to make them want to return week after week.
There are also plenty of fabulous events planned for the market season including some special guests -including a local author- at the market, and even a kite flying event.
To kick off the season, the Meaford Garden Club will once again be at the market for their always popular annual plant sale.
Prior to the official opening of the market, students from Ecole St. Vincent Euphrasia will be putting on an outdoor play which should be a wonderful treat for everyone.
Market patrons can expect to find coffee and other treats from Earth Harvest Cafe, home made apple fritters, sausage on a bun, and a wonderful variety of other items from our market bistro vendors.
There are also plenty of produce vendors this year, and The 100 Mile Market will attend the market each week to bring special products from local food producers who can't attend the farmers' market themselves.
Meaford Mayor Francis Richardson, and Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound MPP Bill Murdoch will help Market Association President and Market Manager Stephen Vance cut the ribbon to officially begin the 2010 Meaford Farmers' Market season.
Why not Live Local, and come and join us?
