Meaford resident Gordon Monahan was among seven Canadians presented with the 2013 Governor General's Award in Visual and Media Arts at a special reception held in Montreal on Tuesday March 12.

Monahan is the creator and director of the annual Electric Eclectics Sound Art festival which has been held on Scotch Mountain in Meaford in each of the past seven years.
