If you are looking to have your say with regard to the municipal branding project and the logos and slogans that have been developed for Meaford Council to consider, then you will want to be at Meaford Hall on Thursday August 26 at 7 pm.
All residents and businesspeople are being encouraged to attend and to share their thoughts about the logos and tag-lines that have been put forward.
Meaford council expressed a desire to consult with the community before they made any final decisions about the re-branding of the municipality.
Two community meetings were held early in the branding project in hopes of gathering resident input but both meetings were poorly attended. The lack of attendance at the community branding workshops certainly hasn't meant that there is a lack of opinions amongst residents.
In a recent TMI poll which ran after the five logo options were unveiled, 38 percent of readers as of August 23 preferred the slogan “Shaped by the shore” and it's accompanying logo, while 36 percent of readers who voted in the poll didn't feel that any of the logos or slogans adequately represented our community.
The slogan “Rising above the bay” ranked a distant third with 10 percent of the votes, and the remaining two slogans each received less than nine percent of reader's votes.
If you would like to attend the meeting, it will be held in the downstairs Terrace Room at Meaford Hall from 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm.
