E-mail Print PDF

thornbury_tornadoMeaford Mayor Francis Richardson took the opportunity to present a cheque to Town of Blue Mountains Mayor Ellen Anderson during her visit to the Meaford Council chambers on November 16.

The $4,500 cheque is Meaford's contribution to the Tornado Relief Fund which is aimed at assisting those that were affected by the tornadoes that ripped through the municipalities of West Grey (Durham), Grey Highlands, and The Town of Blue Mountains on August 20th of this year.

With the Province of Ontario matching donated funds two to one, the Meaford donations will translate into a total of $13,500, or $4,500 per municipality.

Mayor Anderson thanked the mayor and council for the generosity of the municipality toward Meaford's neighbouring communities.
