With Municipal Election Day slated for October 25th, 2010, the Meaford & District Chamber of Commerce is inviting members of the public to attend and participate in two separate All Candidates’ Meetings at the Meaford & St. Vincent Community Centre, 151 Collingwood Street West.
The first event will be held on Monday, September 20th, 2010 beginning at 7pm. This meeting will involve candidates for Mayor, Deputy Mayor and School Board Trustee.
Due to the large number of nominations, a second evening involving candidates for the Councillor positions will take place on Thursday, September 23rd, 2010, also starting at 7pm.
The purpose of both evenings is to help facilitate the decision-making process for voters as they listen to candidates address and answer questions on relevant local issues.
Geoff Solomon, President of the Meaford & District Chamber of Commerce, will moderate both nights and will have prepared questions for the candidates. As well, questions from the audience will be encouraged.
