Police Uncover Grow-Op in Grey Highlands

Grey County, ON – On February 25th 2010 members of the Ontario Provincial Police Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau – Drug Enforcement Unit, Emergency Response Team, and the Grey County Detachment executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act Search Warrant on a property at on Side Road #49, in Grey Highlands, Grey County.

Police located an illegal cannabis marihuana grow operation, and seized cannabis marihuana plants with an estimated potential street value of approximately $615 000.00.

Police also seized dried cannabis marihuana with an estimated potential street value of $1100.00, and two motorized snow vehicles that were stolen from Simcoe County.

Charged were a 45 year old Georgetown man, and a 42 year old man from Caledon, with Production of a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, Theft of Electricity and 2 count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime. Both are scheduled to appear at the Owen Sound Ontario Court of Justice on the 25th of March 2010.
