Lettuce Tantrum Leads to Miscief

E-mail Print PDF

Chatsworth, ON. – Grey County OPP has investigated numerous acts of “road rage”, but a recent outburst and act of mischief at a Grey Highlands restaurant on the weekend was apparently an act of “lettuce rage”.

The incident occurred during a busy noon hour period at a Markdale restaurant on Saturday (November 7, 2009). A man had come into the restaurant and ordered three burgers to go. He indicated he didn’t want lettuce or tomato on one, but the busy cook inadvertently forgot. When the man complained the cook immediately removed the lettuce but that remedy didn’t seem to satisfy the man. He threw the burger across the restaurant and slammed the door so hard on the way out he broke the thick 2 ½ foot by 5 foot glass pane.

He has not yet been identified. He is described as being 18-20 years old, about 5 feet, 9 inches tall and he was wearing a ball cap and dark hoodie.

Anyone with information that might assist is asked to contact Grey County OPP or Crime Stoppers. Constable Ken St. John is the investigating officer.
