The Meaford Independent

(Grey County, ON.) – Grey County OPP is attempting to learn the identity of a man who was apparently taking photographs of young children at play in private

The incident occurred yesterday (June 7^th, 2010) at about 3 pm near the intersection of Boucher and Denmark Streets in the town of Meaford.

A number of children, aged four to eleven years, were playing outside in the back yards of two separate residences when a male, unknown to the children, approached through a nearby parking lot and was seen taking pictures of the children. When one of the involved children asked him what he was doing he ran off

 

The person of interest is described a middle aged white male with brown/greying hair and approximately 5’6” to 5’ 8” tall. He was wearing blue jeans and a green sweatshirt (hoodless). The sweatshirt was unique in that it had the word “Australia” on the front and reference to the “Australia Zoo” and an outline of the continent of Australia on the back of the shirt.

“We would like to identify this person for obvious reasons. I’d encourage him to contact us on his own, but anyone who can assist in identifying him should contact Grey County OPP or Crime Stoppers so that the matter can be followed up whether he comes forward or not.”
