Annual Festive R.I.D.E. Campaign Kicks off Saturday

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) will be conducting their annual Festive R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) campaign from November 24, until January 2, 2013.

Last year, during the 2011-2012 holiday season, the OPP charged 682 drivers with impaired driving and an additional 583 drivers were issued Warn Range suspensions for registering a Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) between .05 and .08.

Grey County OPP received a report on Tuesday (November 13) of a daytime break-in at a rural Meaford residence.

Police say that sometime between 8:45 am, and 10:00 am on Tuesday, the residence, located on Highway 6 & 10 on Meaford's western border, the residence was forcibly entered through the back door.
