Grey County, ON – Grey County OPP charged two persons with assaults over the weekend.  The incidents were far apart geographically with one occurring in the Municipality of Meaford and the other in Chatsworth Township, however, the common denominator in both cases was the aggressors were young females.

Just before 7 pm on May 16, 2010 two young females were outside in a parking area at an apartment complex on Victoria Street in Meaford. One of the girls made verbal threats and shoved the other. She was physically restrained by bystanders but broke free and punched the victim in the face. The female aggressor has been charged with assault. She was held for a bail hearing and will appear this morning (May 17^th, 2010) in Youth Justice Court-Owen Sound.

Grey County, ON – A female driver who was the subject of a routine traffic stop in Meaford Thursday evening (15-Apr-10) made matters much worse, especially for herself, when she became belligerent and combative with the police officer.

A Grey County OPP officer observed a driver operating a car while not wearing a seat belt and stopped the same on Paul Street in the town of Meaford just before 8 pm.

When informed of the reason for the stop the female driver became highly agitated and while handing documents over to the officer screamed and shoved the officer before throwing the items on the ground. She indicated verbally and with actions she was going to leave the scene and as the officer took control she became combative and resistive.
