Earlier this month Larry Miller, MP for Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound, hosted a roundtable discussion on the New Veteran’s Charter with Parm Gill, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Veterans Affairs, and representatives from local Legions in the riding of Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound.
The focus of the meeting was centred on the New Veteran’s Charter and gave local Legion representatives an opportunity to discuss ways in which the Government can support Canadian Veterans.
Key aspects of the New Veteran’s Charter focus on: case management, disability award, financial benefits, rehabilitation, health benefits, family support, career transition services, and a death benefit. These topics, among others, were discussed at the roundtable.
“I was very pleased to have the opportunity to meet with representatives from our local Legions as well as Parliamentary Secretary Parm Gill to discuss the New Veteran’s Charter and support for Veterans in Canada,” said Miller. “The discussion we’ve had here today will certainly go a long way in ensuring that Canadian Veterans have the support they need.”
