Councillor Suggests Lowering Fare For Municipal Transit Bus


Citing low ridership of the municipal transit bus in the first six months of a planned one-year pilot project, Meaford Councillor Shirley Keaveney suggested to council that the $4 fare could be a barrier for many potential users, and she asked council to consider lowering the fare.

David Johnston Park to Become More Accessible

David Johnston Park, located beside the Coast Guard station, will soon be more accessible for people with physical disabilities, after a $10,100 grant from the Enabling Accessibility Fund awarded to the municipality will be used to install 200 feet of a product called Mobi-Mat RecPaths.

Municipal Staff Provide Council With Winter Roads Control Update

Last winter the Municipality of Meaford made some adjustments to its winter road control practices and procedures which have resulted in significant financial savings. At their January 23 meeting, Meaford councillors were provided with an update on the initiative by Treasurer Darcy Chapman.
