Six bookshops and one library located in the heart of Owen Sound have formed an informal consortium to provide residents and visitors with the fifth annual literary walking tour of all locations.
“By morphing from competitors into strategic partners, we believe we can benefit everyone,” says bookseller Maryann Thomas of The Ginger Press.
The aromas of smoke and BBQ sauce will be wafting over the shores of Owen Sound late this summer as five professional “ribbers” make this one of their many stops on the 2011 North American tour. The teams compete for various trophies including best ribs and sauce.
The popular Harbour Nights Concert Series kicks off its tenth season with a blaze of electric guitars at a special fundraising concert indoors on May 29th.
