Local MPP Bill Walker has congratulated Kathleen Wynne on her election as the new leader of the Ontario Liberal Party and on becoming the first female Premier of Ontario.

“I extend my personal good wishes to Ms. Wynne,” MPP Walker said. “I also remain concerned that she was Dalton McGuinty’s foot soldier on a myriad of of anti-rural policies, namely the Green Energy Act.”

When it comes to education, local MPP Bill Walker wants to see better student outcomes and productivity.

The Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound MPP says his party’s education white paper aims at meeting those expectations by ensuring every student in Ontario graduates with employable skills for the new knowledge economy that include numeracy, communication, critical thinking and personal management.
