Local MPP Bill Murdoch says the provincial Liberals are hard-wired to raise taxes to cover their $17-billion deficit. The MPP issued the warning during debate Monday evening at Queen’s Park on a government motion about not raising the HST.
The provincial Liberals broke a 2003 election promise not to raise taxes by introducing the Health Care Premium and again in 2007 by bringing in the HST.
