Former Students Return for GBSS Music Alumni Weekend

Georgian Bay Secondary School was buzzing with excitement during the weekend of June 5 -7, as over 120 former students filled the school once again, for the Music Alumni weekend.

This event, never held before, was designed to bring back any students who participated in the school's Music Program, who have graduated under the tutelage of teacher Patrick Delaney.

Mountain Bike Racing Alive & Well in Bluewater


The final results of the Bluewater Athletic Association (BAA) Mountain Bike Series were determined on June 4, and Rachel Brown from GBSS captured the Senior women's division. With over 140 riders registered for the six race series this year, mountain bike racing is alive and well in Bluewater!

GBSS Born to Read Literacy Group will host 'Gotta Keep Reading', a free Literacy Event on May 20 at Meaford Hall with guest author/illustrator Werner Zimmerman.

MCS Students Need Some Capital to Get to the Capital

carwashing225While many students are beginning to anticipate the final day of the school year, and the beginning of summer vacation, grade eight students at Meaford Community School have a tradition to uphold before setting their eyes on summer vacation - preparing for their trip to the nation's capital in June.

Like many elementary schools, MCS has a tradition of organizing a year end trip for the grade eight students who after graduating will head to high school in September. And what better way to celebrate enduring nine years of elementary school than taking a trip to Ottawa?
