Annie Jr. Opens at Meaford Hall Tonight


Annie Jr. opens a three day run at Meaford Hall tonight. The production will run from March 12 – 14, and tickets cost $10 for a child and $15 for an adult. Performances on March 12 and 13 will be at 7 pm, while the March 14 performance will take place at 2 pm.

Monday Night Book Club Reviews: The Luminaries by Eleanor Catton

luminaries225This book, written by the author at the age of 28, won the 2013 Man Booker Prize. This is only her second novel. Her first, The Rehearsal, was written as her Master's thesis at age 22.

This novel is written true to the Victorian novel format. There are many characters, plot twists, and until the very end nothing is as it seems.

Monday Night Book Club Review – Birdsong by Sebastian Faulks

birdsong225First, let me say that I didn't make it to the January book club. Something about beaches and sand and water kept me away.

The book was The Massey Murder, by Charlotte Gray.  I am told that the majority of the members found the book too weighted with legal process and not enough story. Most had not heard of this case.
